What you accept by using this site

By browsing compoundingjourney.com, using its calculators and simulators, or downloading its templates, you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, the consistent thing to do is not to use the site.

This is financial education, not advice

It is the most important clause on this page, so it is put plainly:

Sandy Bradbury is a financial educator, not an accredited financial adviser, and is not registered as an investment firm or agent with the CNMV or any equivalent regulator, and nothing published on this site is financial, investment, tax or legal advice, or a personal recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything.

All of the content is general educational information, written without knowing your situation, your income, your debts, your tax position or your tolerance for risk. Reading it creates no advisory, fiduciary or professional relationship between you and the author. Before making a decision about your money, consult a properly registered professional in your jurisdiction.

The decisions you make are yours, and so are their consequences.

The calculators and simulators

The calculators and simulators do arithmetic on the numbers you enter, under the assumptions each page states. Their results are illustrative estimates, not forecasts: they do not model real inflation, tax, future fees, crashes, changes in your income, or the behavior of any actual market. A past return does not repeat because a calculator extended it in a straight line.

All of the calculation happens in your browser, and nothing is stored — except the simulations you choose to save: a score submitted to a leaderboard, or a scenario added to the public data.

The templates

The spreadsheet templates are free for your personal use. Copy them, change them, use them however you like on your own finances. You may not resell them, redistribute them as your own product, or present them as somebody else's material. They come as they are, with no warranty: check the formulas before trusting a spreadsheet with an important decision.

The leaderboards and the public data

If you submit a score to a simulator leaderboard, you accept that the display name and the score are public. Do not put personal data there — yours or anybody else's. Any entry containing third-party personal data, abuse, advertising, or an attempt to game the table may be removed without notice.

If you save a simulation into the public data, you accept that its figures and choices are published in aggregate — averages, shares and distributions — with no name and no identifier. A single simulation is never published on its own, and no measure is published below its minimum sample. That data may be used in articles on this site and quoted with attribution.

The sessions

The sessions are education and coaching: going through templates, understanding concepts, tidying up habits, setting goals. They do not include investment recommendations, product selection, portfolio management or tax planning, and they are not a substitute for a registered adviser. Each session is engaged separately and its specific terms are agreed in writing before it is paid for.

Intellectual property

The text, templates, code and design of this site are Sandy Bradbury's work and are protected by copyright. You may quote short passages with attribution and a link to the original page. You may not republish whole articles, use the content to train closed commercial models, or reproduce the site.

Some articles link to books, tools or pages run by other people. Those links are references, not endorsements, and I control neither what they publish nor what they do with your data.

Availability and changes

The site is provided as it is, with no guarantee of continuous availability. I may change, move or withdraw any content; when a page changes address, I will try to make the old one redirect to the new.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, I accept no liability for losses arising from the use of this site, from the interpretation of its content, from an error in a calculation or a template, or from the service being unavailable. None of this limits any rights consumer law gives you as a consumer.

Governing law

These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, you keep the right to bring proceedings in the courts of your place of residence.
